Tema LNG Import Terminal completes 28,000 m³ LNG floating storage regasification unit
Ghana’s Tema Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Import Terminal Project, the country’s first LNG import terminal project, has seen completion of a 28,000 m³ LNG floating storage regasification unit (FSRU) recently.
Under construction by CHEC, the FSRU has a length of 94.9 meters and width of 38.4 meters. It has a maximum regasification capacity of 335 tons per hour and a 14,000-ton loading capacity. After completion, the project will meet 30 percent of Ghana’s power generation demand. Despite multiple challenges, the global health crisis included, the project department has been implementing strict prevention measures, ensuring smooth advancement of the project.
