Honghe Bridg opened to vehicles
With drop-shape bridge pylons, the Honghe Bridge partly built by CCCC in Zhujiang, south China’s Guangdong Province was opened to vehicles on December 15. The bridge consists of two double-pylon cable-stayed bridges with a span of 500 meters, the largest of its kind in the world.
Spanning the Hongwan and Modaomen waterways, the bridge starts at the Hongwan Interchange in Nanping Town, accesses the link line of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, and then runs westward. With six lanes and designated speed of 100 km/h, the 9.6-km structure will further improve the regional highway network and better cope with the increasing traffic volume.
