Colombian Vice-President praises CHEC for disaster relief effort
Colombian Vice-President Marta Lucia Ramirez praised CHEC for its disaster relief effort recently.
On November 13, Hurricane Iota made landfall in Colombia, causing heavy rainfalls and mudslides in the municipality of Dabeiba in the Antioquia province and destroying part of the country’s main road Route 62. CHEC’s Mar 2 highway project there was also affected.
While striving to ensure the safety of the company’s personnel, the project department also took prompt action to offer a helping hand to the people of Colombia, such as dispatching constructors and mechanical vehicles to repair the route, and sending clothes and food to people in the flood-stricken areas. At the same time they also did their best to resume the project’s construction. The love and selfless spirit they embodied in this disaster relief effort was praised by the local government in a recent thank-you letter.
