Main structure of Fenghuang Road Yellow River Bridge closes
Construction of the world’s longest-span self-anchored suspension bridge with three towers—Fenghuang Road Yellow River Bridge has achieved a major breakthrough. The main bridge of the structure saw its closure recently in Jinan, east China’s Shandong Province.
As the 12th over the Yellow River, the 6,683-meter-long bridge has broken many world records. It has a main span of 428m and width of 61.7m, the largest among bridges of its kind in the world. The project is constructed by the CCCC according to the two-way eight-lane first-grade highway standard, with space reserved for double-track rail traffic in the middle. After opening, it will offer residents more choices to cross the river.
