Colombo Port City Development Project in Sri Lanka wins 2020 ENR Global Best Project Award (Airport/Port)

The Colombo Port City Development Project in Sri Lanka constructed by CCCC subsidiary CHEC won the 2020 ENR Global Best Project Award (Airport/Port).
This is the 8th global best project award organized by ENR. Moreover, this is the first ENR Global Best Project Award of CHEC under the airport/port category this year, after the Global Award of Merit for Airport Projects was awarded to the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Macao Boundary Crossing Facilities Project in 2018. This event was organized mainly for projects completed between January 2019 and April 2020. A total of 30 projects from 21 countries and regions won the Global Best Project Award or Award of Merit under 17 categories, notably airports and ports, railways, roads, bridges and tunnels. Among them, six projects from four Chinese companies won awards.
Colombo Port City is a large urban complex development project invested, constructed and run by CHEC. With an investment of US $1.4 billion, the first phase of the project brought in an investment of about US $13 billion in secondary development, which makes it the most spectacular development project in the history of Sri Lanka. In 2018, Forbes named Colombo Port City as one of the "Five New Cities Affecting the Future".
During the epidemic, the project company donated medical protective supplies to all sectors of society in Sri Lanka.
