CCCC practices green building in road construction
Environmental protection can go hand in hand with infrastructure construction. The 97-km Duyun-Shangri-La Highway project built by CCCC in south China has been practicing green building in many respects.
The project minimizes land occupation and land waste by preserving existing trees, landscapes, and rivers as much as possible, avoiding occupation of arable land, and excavation of mountains. The temporary land can still be re-cultivated.
The project applied advanced environment monitoring equipment. It also focuses on the treatment and recycling of domestic sewage and production wastewater. The waste residue can be used for subgrade filling after treatment.
The project prioritizes energy-saving, high-efficiency, and environmentally friendly mechanical equipment and recyclable materials, optimize the construction plan, and increase the utilization rate.
