Quanzhou Bay cross-sea bridge starts superstructure construction

Main structure of the south main tower of China’s first cross-sea high-speed rail bridge, Quanzhou Bay cross-sea bridge was finished in Fujian Province recently.
Standing also 160 meters tall, the other main tower of the bridge is scheduled to be completed in October this year.
The 20-km-long bridge is part of the Fuzhou-Xiamen high-speed railway, which is expected to be put into operation in 2022. With a designated speed of 350 kilometers per hour, the rail will help form the “one-hour living circle” between the two cities of Fuzhou and Xiamen.
The construction of the bridge’s superstructure has started.
