Recently, Africa Star Railway Operation Company (Afristar) joined hands with TOTO CARE in Kenya to donate health kits containing items that are required to boost health of mothers and their new born babies.
Since 2019, Afristar and TOTO CARE have worked together to donate health kits to boost health of mothers and their new born babies. To date, Afristar has provided 100 kits to mothers delivering at Lengo Medical Clinic and 130 kits to mothers delivering at Amref Hospital (Kibera). These kits have made a positive difference in boosting health of mothers and their new born babies.
Lucy Wambui Kaigutha, Founder and CEO of Toto Care, said that the health kits given to mothers by Afristar will ensure that the mother and child are well taken care of in the first 28 days after delivery, which will significantly reduce maternal mortality.
Jane, as a representative and a new mother, said excitedly: "This kit is unique and will bring health to myself and my child, and I hope all mothers embrace the concept of healthy childbirth."
