Adhering to the green development, CCCC strives for ecological civilization. The following CCCC projects are examples in green energy saving, low carbon environmental protection and sustainable development.

Upholding the concept of building a green golden port, the CCCC project team has planted characteristic seedlings on the roadside in some noise-sensitive areas as local temples and schools, and built a 35-kilometer-long green noise reduction forest belt. The Golden Port Expressway will become a green expressway in harmony with the local nature.

The project adopts a double-layer filter screen to filter sand and gravel instead of a mud pool to settle the waste mud generated by the construction of bored piles. In the "treated" mud, nutrients such as compound fertilizers and flowers and seeds are added to create a green "ecological garden" under the viaduct.

Yunfu-Maoming Expressway 

During the construction of Yunfu-Maoming Expressway, the CCCC project team has investigated, registered and numbered the original trees and ancient trees within the red line range, and completed the tree relocation according to the tree’s conditions. About 2,300 trees of about 20 species were classified and transplanted to a temporary base of about 60 mu. The project team replanted these trees next to Yunfu to Maoming Expresswaywhen the project was about to be completed, which can not only protect precious species, but also enhance the ecological effect of the project. Now Yunmao Expressway is like a green ribbon inlaid on the land of western Guangdong.

According to the principle of soil fixation and water conservation, desertification prevention and alkali control, and landscape enhancement, the CCCC project team has successively implemented desert grassland ecological restoration demonstration projects, lakeside ecological pollution blocking projects, and mine afforestation and greening projects in lake shores, grasslands, and mines. Based on local conditions, the project team has made relevantarrangements, which not only effectively prevents sediment from entering the lake, but also adds green to Hetao area, creating a 126-kilometer beautiful scene around the lake with both ecological functions and landscape value.

Taking the construction of the Qinghai-Tibet Expressway as an opportunity, CCCC project team has made research and development on native vegetation cultivation and engineering application technologies in alpine areas,through the establishment of a cultivation base for native plants in alpine and high-altitude areas, screening, cultivation and industrial cultivation of plateau native plants to promote ecological protection and restoration in alpine and high-altitude areas. More than 40 acres of native plant cultivation bases in high-altitude and alpine regions have been built, and more than 10 species of native herbs and shrubs have been cultivated, achieving achieved a good application demonstration effect in theYangbajing-Lhasa section of the Qinghai-Tibet Expressway.

The project has a total length of 3.4 kilometers. More than 2,000 trees such as jacaranda, sweetgum, winter cherry, more than 3 million ground cover plants, and more than 4,000 square meters of lawn are planted in the green belt alone the route.

The CCCC project team insists on planting re-greening saplings. Up to now, more than 40,000 re-green saplings such as acacia and sand tree saplings, andmore than 2,000 landscape trees such as red-leaf orchid, osmanthus tree, taba, etc have been planted along the route, contributing to building a green Xuanen-Hefeng expressway.
