The main structure of Guangzhou Pearl River Huangpu Bridge'sNancha Bridge is a ultra-large bridge flying over Pearl River as one part of the second east ring expressway of Guangzhou City and is renowned as "the Largest Bridge in Southern China". The main span is a 1108m single-span cable-stayed bridge and designed with two-way six lanes (eight lanes can be maintained in the long run). The main girder of this bridge is flat steel box girder with guide plate which simultaneously serves as a maintenance way (also functioning as a passage for pedestrian and sightseeing). Round diaphragm wall foundation and triangular frame body are used for anchorage. The cable support pylon is concrete door-type pylon with double cross beams. Pearl River Huangpu Bridge was started on December 23, 2003, completed and opened to traffic in 2008.
