Liancheng Bridge in Xiangtan City, Hunan Province

Liancheng Bridge, formerly named the Fourth Bridge of Xiangtan, is a ultra-large bridge on the second ring road considered in the overall planning of Xiangtan City, besides, it is one section of the second ring road of Xiangtan City, State Road 320 and express lane between Changsha City, Zhuzhou City and Xiangtan City and also a hub connecting Hedong and Hexi areas in Xiangtan urban section of Xiangjiang River ecological and economic zone. This bridge, with a total investment of RMB 0.45 billion yuan and 31-year franchise operation period (including the construction period) ranging from January 1, 2004 to December 31, 2034, was opened to traffic and put into operation on July 15, 2007. 
  

This project has a total length of 1,345m and main span of 400m. The total length of bridge together with approach line is 4,488m and the bridge width is 27m. The approach road at both ends of bridge is with a total length of 3,349m, width of 63m and two-way six lanes. The bridge adopts a brand-new combined structure and is a 120m+120m+120m flying-swallow-type cable-stayed arched bridge with concrete-filled tubular and tie bar. It integrates the advantages and features of arch, girder and cable as a whole and is the first case in the world.
